V-rings protect sealing elements from grease, oil or water splashes, as well as dust and other fluids.
V-rings are generally used for pressureless sealing against dirt, water and oil splashes on moving shafts. The V-shaped sealing lip, which gives the V-Ring its name, acts axially. The most commonly used sealing materials are NBR, FKM and FPM.
